Gonda: A district-level Census Coordination Committee meeting was held at the Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan to review preparations for the population enumeration phase of Census 2027.
The meeting focused on ensuring that the census exercise is completed within the prescribed timeline and in an accurate, transparent and coordinated manner. Niranjan directed all officials associated with the exercise to perform their responsibilities with seriousness and cautioned against any negligence, stressing that Census 2027 is an important national exercise.

She said reliable and accurate population data plays a crucial role in planning and implementing development programmes at both the national and state levels. Officials were asked to maintain close coordination and regularly review census-related activities in their respective areas.
Alongside the meeting, training was conducted for district- and charge-level officials. The training covered the census process, responsibilities of officials, operational procedures and precautions required during enumeration. Officials were instructed to follow prescribed guidelines and ensure the accuracy of information collected.

Niranjan called for effective coordination among all departments to ensure the successful completion of the second phase of Census 2027.
Chief Development Officer Dayanand Prasad, Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Pramod Jha, Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Gonda Sadar and Tarabganj Savita Shukla, District Informatics Officer, District Basic Education Officer, Census Trainer Vineet Mishra, Block Education Officers, executive officers of municipalities and nagar panchayats, and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
